With Storm Reid, a young actress who excelled in euphoria and more recently it has been shining The Last of Usthe film Missing it’s all controlled by June, a “rebellious” teenager dealing with the disappearance of her mother.
Grace, played by Nia Long, raised June alone after the death of her husband, James (Tim Griffin), but that task wasn’t easy. While vacationing in Colombia with her new boyfriend Kevin (Ken Leung), Grace disappears without a trace.
June, then, who was in charge of picking up her mother at the airport, begins a saga to find out what happened using all the technology at her disposal, exploring the creativity that only a person of Generation Z could have.
New technologies

To search… was presented for the first time in 2019, a year in which we were already using different technologies today, but Missing managed to further explore electronic devices, applications and internet connection.
It’s amazing to see June using everything an Internet-connected computer can provide. Using intelligence, agility and familiarity with current technology, the character goes beyond what is permitted by the police to trace the life of his mother’s boyfriend and her e-mail accounts, as well as explore the security cameras with live broadcast of tourist sites.
One of the film’s more ingenious insights is that June uses a service to hire service providers, such as cleaning and repairs. Since the Colombian police were unable to cooperate in the way she needed, she hired a local resident via the app to travel around the city doing small, important tasks.

several twists
Missing brings twists to every moment and knows how to leave the best for the final moments. Everyone grows suspicious during June’s discoveries, and these conclusions aren’t always of the character, but of who she’s watching.
The feature film features a twist within a twist, with Storm Reid perfectly controlling the details of the investigation with her facial expressions, as her appearance only happens with images of her face for most of the time. The actress manages to deliver a good performance, even in a completely different scenario than a normal film.
Missing it’s an interesting thriller, intense and brings mixed feelings. At the same time that the heart accelerates with the discoveries, we are happy to see the exploration of technologies, which grow every year, and we also enjoy ourselves with deliberately funny dialogues.
The film Missing is showing in cinemas all over Brazil; secure your entry entrance.com.
