NCIS: Hawaii, the new spin-off of the NCIS franchise: Special Investigations, airs every Saturday evening from 9.10pm on M6. Hosted by Vanessa Lachey, the series follows Special Agent Jane Tennant, a single mother torn between her professional life and family responsibilities leading the NCIS Pearl team.
For this occasion, the actor responds to Alex Tarrant, a young New Zealand actor taking his first major role in an American production here. He plays Kai Holman, a new agent from Hawaii who joins Jane’s team in the first episode.
Alex Tarrant almost didn’t star in NCIS: Hawaii
And if more than 8 years had passed since the actor began his career in his country of origin, only in 2020, during the pandemic, he really moved, because in addition to choosing to join the team of NCIS: Hawaii, he joined the Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power actors.
In the first season of this Amazon Prime Video blockbuster, available on the platform since September, Alex Tarrant plays Valandil, an apprentice in the Numenor navy who wants to become a sailor.
The actor also barely starred in NCIS: Hawaii due to scheduling conflicts. When Alex Tarrant found out he was cast in a detective series and had to go to Hawaii, he was still filming The Rings of Power in New Zealand and the producer didn’t want him out of his contract.
However, he managed to negotiate with Amazon’s production of the series so that they let it go early, and the NCIS: Hawaii teams applied the learning before his arrival on the set. It was really incredible to call another actor for the production.
“He kicked us out“NCIS executive producer Christopher Silber explained to our colleagues at Stuff. “He brought a depth to the character that we couldn’t miss. Everyone agreed that Alex was our only choice. It brings humanity to Kai’s character.”
Catch two new episodes of NCIS: Hawaii every Saturday night from 9.10pm on M6.
