Push Start for Creed 3! After a great start in France, Michael B. Jordan’s film is also going strong across the Atlantic! The film grossed over $58 million in its first weekend. That’s far ahead of the first installment in the franchise, Creed: The Legacy of Rocky Balboa ($29.6M, released in 2015) and also far ahead of Creed II ($35.5M, released in 2018).
Like our colleagues BoxofficeProCreed III was very well received in the rest of the world, starting with France. “Worldwide, the film grossed approximately $41.8 million in over 75 markets. That’s twice as much as the first Creed and 25% more than Creed II. France leads with $7.7 million, ahead of the United Kingdom ($6.1 million), Germany ($4.3 million), Italy ($3.5 million) and Mexico ($3 million). Overall, the Warner Bros. film has already crossed $100 million in revenue“, they point out.
Ant-Man 3 moves to No. 2, earning an additional $12 million for a total of nearly $187 million. On the new side, let’s salute the good start of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village ($10 million). Just shy of Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre, Guy Ritchie’s new film, with $3 million for its opening weekend. The latter will be released in France directly on Amazon Prime Video in 2023.
