The office’s current representative, Seraphim Del Grande, will not seek re-election. Fundraising will take place in the evening
The 291 deliberative councilors of Palmeiras will decide the new president of the body on Monday evening (6). The current MP, Alcyr Ramos da Silva Júnior, is the current candidate, as Seraphim Del Grande will not run for re-election. Carlos Antônio Faedo is the representative of the opposition. There is a third list, launched by councilor Roberto Silva, which defines itself as independent.
The expectation is for a close dispute, given that two years ago Seraphim won by only 15 votes (129 to 114 against Mário Giannini). The office of president lasts two years.

However, according to people connected to the board who were heard from the report, the expectation is that Alcy will win between 50% and 60%. The tendency is for the remaining percentage to be divided between Faedo, Roberto and the abstentions. Some also expect Roberto Silva to withdraw his candidacy before the polls begin and to declare his support for Alcyr Ramos da Silva Júnior.
Voting will be limited to directors at the Palmeiras headquarters. The meeting is scheduled to start at 20:00 (Brasilia time). Initially the minutes of the previous meeting will be read, followed by the inauguration of the new directors, elected last February and, finally, the voting for the new president of the institution will begin. Voting will be done electronically, which will facilitate counting. The deadline for directors to sign the attendance register and vote is 21:00 (Brasilia time). Therefore, it is estimated that before 22:00 (Brasilia time) there will be the result of the vote for the new person responsible for the presidency of the Verdão Deliberative Council.
This Monday’s election (6) will be the first since the club’s by-law change was approved in October last year. In it, it was agreed that the number of life counsel be reduced from 148 to 130 – and will decrease even more, to 120, in the next litigation, two years from now. Therefore, vacancies for elected councilors have increased. In the February vote, the vacancies increased from 78 to 90. Forty-four of them were destined for the government ticket, even without as much influence from President Leila Pereira.

Every two years, a part of the Palmeiras Deliberative Council undergoes elections. Life corresponds to some requirements, such as time and performance in the club to be redeemed, and it is no longer necessary to make a choice in voting.
The councilors of Palmeiras, in addition to voting for the president of the CD, will also decide for the vice president. The lists are not linked to each other as they have independent votes. Two candidates are running for this role: Maurício Camargo, for the situation, and Felipe Giocondo, for the opposition.
