Director Martin Scorsese, who directed the cult films “Taxi Driver” and “The Wolf of Wall Street”, shared a list of his favorite films of all time. The cinematographer spoke about the favorites to Sight And Sound magazine. Since 1952, the publication has asked different directors about their top films every ten years. This year, journalists turned not only to Scorsese, but also to Wes Anderson, Barry Jenkins and Ari Astaire. The directors agreed that the best film is 2001: A Space Odyssey. In second place is “8 and a half”, in third – “Ashes and Diamond”.
Next on the list are Citizen Kane by Orson Welles, Diary of a Country Priest by Robert Bresson, To Live by Akira Kurosawa, The Leopard by Luchino Visconti, The Word by Carl Theodor Dreyer, Paiza by Roberto Rossellini, The Red Shoes by Emeric Pressburger and Michael Powell, “The River” by Jean Renoir, “Salvatore Giuliano” by Francesco Rosi, “The Searchers” by Mikhail Shapiro, “Tales of the Foggy Moon After the Rain” by Kenji Mizoguchi and “Vertigo” by Alfred Hitchcock.

Stanley Kubrick’s A Space Odyssey is considered one of the most influential films. At the time of its release in 1968, it was nominated for four Oscars and won Best Special Visual Effects.
Earlier it became known that Keanu Reeves will star in the series for the first time – the producers will be Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. Big Hollywood actors think twice before accepting a role in the series, and some never appear on television at all, but for the sake of a brilliant team, Keanu compromised principles.
