Last January, James Gunn – the new head of DC Studios along with Peter Safran – announced the first films and series of the new DC Universe.

During the announcement, the new head of DC Studios already indicated that other works would be announced at a later date, but it was not clear how many.
His answer to DCU Chapter 1 therefore suggests a larger first installment than expected, as it should consist of around twenty projects (series and movies combined), and that doesn’t include projects already underway. Productions like Joker: Madness. For two, Batman 2 and Constantine.
As a reminder, DC Studios is planning two chapters that will be told over ten years. James Gunn mentioned that two movies and two series will be released every year. The release will be on the big screen on July 9, 2025 with Superman: Legacy and on the small screen with the animated series Creature Commandos.
