Willem Dafoe talks about ‘Nosferatu’, the film that will reunite him with Robert Eggers

Filmmaker Robert Eggers has made a name for himself in the horror film sphere over the past 10 years.. He’s released everything from instant classics like “The Witch” to his recent Viking epic “The Northman,” one of the best movies of 2022. And it doesn’t seem like he has any plans to stop anytime soon. Eggers’ highly anticipated story appears to be already underway. This time the filmmaker will face the vampires: it is about a new version of Nosferatu. This has been an Eggers passion project for quite some time; the filmmaker has acknowledged being obsessed with ‘Nosfaratu’ since he was a child and it is something he would like to do. Now the day has come, and he already has a cast stacked up for the project. and for it will feature an interpreter you already know: Willem Dafoe. The actor has now spoken about this new story while promoting his upcoming appearance in the psychological horror film, ‘Inside.’

Dafoe revealed that the filming of ‘Nosferatu’ will begin very sooneither. “That’s why I have this mustache (and sideburns),” she said in an interview with Colliderpointing to his overgrown sideburns and mustache “because we’re filming now. I’m starting at nothing.”

While he couldn’t reveal many details about his upcoming work, Dafoe shared high praise for writer-director Eggers: “I love working with Robert Eggers. I had a wonderful time. I saw ‘The Witch’ and I really liked it. I arranged a meeting with him. we liked each other Then I did ‘The Lighthouse’, which was a fantastic experience, and I think it’s a very good movie. Then I did a small role in ‘The Northman’, which I really enjoyed, and now I can do this. So I’m happy to be back with him. It’s Nosferatu, his version of Nosferatu. I’m excited to be with him again. He’s a great filmmaker and I enjoy his company.”

Along with Dafoe, Eggers has already compiled the actors for his ‘Nosferatu’. The usual horror Bill Skarsgård, known for being Pennywise in Andy Muschietti’s ‘It’ and recently seen in ‘Barbarian’, will play the leading vampire. lily rose depp has been cast as the young woman he is obsessed with. Completing the cast are Nicholas Houlta regular in the genre, and the actress seen in ‘The Crown’, Emma Corrin, although no details about any of his roles have been revealed yet. One of the latest to be announced is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, seen in ‘Bullet Train’ last year in an undisclosed role.

In addition to ‘Inside’, which does not have a release date in Spain, although it opens in the United States on March 17, the actor will also appear in ‘Poor Things’, the new film by Yorgos Lanthimos and ‘Asteroid City’, the latest work prepared by Wes Anderson. Both are from the movies that will arrive in 2023.
