Fans who saw The Book of Boba Fett spin-off know how the two heroes teamed up, but it came as quite a surprise to others. But this leaves no time for emotions, Dean Jarin and Grogu go straight to new adventures.
In the second episode of Season 3, The Mandalorian and his little companion go on an expedition to Mandalore, where Dean Jarrin hopes to redeem himself to find the way to the Mandalorians.
And as with every episode of the Disney+ series: this episode threw a lot of gags and easter eggs into the Star Wars saga. Here are all the hidden details you absolutely cannot miss in The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 2!
The Mandalorian series is available on Disney+.
Boonta Eve Race
Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris), a mechanic at Mos Eisley, talks about “Boonta Eve,” a celebration for which she has to roll up her sleeves because there’s a lot of work to be done. And for good reason, it just happens to be the annual module race on Tatooine. The party first appeared in the Star Wars universe in The Phantom Menace, and a certain Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd) attended and won a race in B.C. in the 32nd year. BY.
Leap like Luhrmann

Seemingly overjoyed to see Pelly Devise again, little Grogu jumps into her arms. The latter is surprised to see how he can jump like that and compares his jump to Lurmen. This is a species of creature familiar to Star Wars fans, as there are several specimens of these pacifist furry bipeds that aided the Jedi during the Clone Wars in The Clone Wars animated series.
Droid R5-D4

The R5-D4 astromech droid has been known to Star Wars fans since he first appeared in A New Hope. He ended up on Tatooine with R2-D2 and C-3PO in a Java sand tank. First acquired by Owen Lars and Luke Skywalker, it was eventually returned to the Jawas because it was faulty. Later, he joined the Rebellion and helped spy on the Imperial forces. He now finds himself in the possession of Pelly’s motto, who sold it to Dean Jarrin for his quest on Mandalore.
Concordia Moon

Concordia is a Mandalorian moon. Dean Jarrin (Pedro Pascal) explains that he grew up on this moon, which was ruled by Pre Vizla, the leader of the Death Watch, at the beginning of the Clone Wars. We also know that Dean Jarrin is the son of the infamous Death Watch, a group of dissident Mandalorians who broke away from Mandalorian society after attempting to overthrow the pacifist Mandalorian government. Pre Vizsla, voiced by Jon Favreau, creator of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett series, in The Clone Wars animated series, was a famous Black Lantern wielder.
The Mandalorians’ past with the Jedi

When Bo-Katan Kreese (Kate Sackhoff, reprising her role from the animated series) arrives on Mandalore to rescue Dean Jarryn, he explains to a suspicious Grog that the Mandalorians and the Jedi are at odds and even once fought. It especially applies to his alliance with Ahsoka Tano or Obi-Wan Kenobi to fight Darth Maul.
Mandalore the Great

Bo-Katan mentions Mandalore the Great while reading stone inscriptions in the Mandalorian mines. The latter, according to legends, tamed the mythosaur. Little is known about him, but it was explained in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars Legends – which are no longer part of the canon of the universe – that he led the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian War against the Jedi.
Mythosaurs still exist!

When Bo-Katan goes in search of Dean Jarrin deep into the living waters of the Mandalorian mines, he crosses the gaze of a terrible monster: it is a mythosaur, a creature from the planet Mandalore. The Mythosaurs were killed by the Taungs when the latter conquered the planet. The mythosaur skull later became a symbol of the Mandalorian people. The fact that Mythosaurs finally exist will certainly have a big impact on the future of the Mandalorian people.
