Doctor Strange 2 screenwriter Michael Waldron shares the film’s most incredible moments

[The following story contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.]

now this Dr. Strange in many worlds of madness Released for $507 million worldwide, many questions have been answered, but many remain. Is John Krasinski the key to reprising the role of Reed Richards in the upcoming film? ᲨExcellent four? Who owned the empty chair when Dr. Strange was tried before the Illuminati of Earth-838?

The versatility of madness screenwriter and Loki Home writer Michael Waldron can’t answer these questions, but he can add a little more clarity. LokiThe ending that seemed to open up the multiple world before. Doctor Strangethe spell was broken Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“Okay, I think [Loki’s ending is] What makes all this possible. The Marvel Cinematic World as we know it, Earth-616, has been isolated from any multifaceted ანი Loki Ultimately, that defense is gone. That’s why you can bring in villains and characters from other Spider-Man movies and therefore new ones. Doctor Strange“Our heroes can travel to other worlds.” the hollywood reporter.

in the last conversation THRWaldron also shared the origin story of the Shocking Illuminati sequel before discussing a common theme between Stephen Strange, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and newcomer America Chavez (Hochitel Gomez).

fingers Wanda’s Vision s The versatility of madnessHow long was Darold rooted in Wanda?

It’s never specifically defined, but it’s been a long time. We don’t charge after that today. [WandaVision] labels; That’s right. So that’s really enough to really get your hooks.

The “I never said her name” trope is always satisfying, so I liked how you changed when Wanda was diagnosed with the inappropriate name of mentioning America (Xóchitl Gómez). This, in turn, revealed Wanda as the film’s villain.

Yes sure. I love this trope too. I said, ‘This is the trope I saw. I’m not really going to be new here.” But it was interesting and it felt like Strange was a detective. So that moment is really scary and the actors were really good at it. We had a lot of fun with it.

For the Illuminati, did Marvel bosses basically give them a list of characters that were available and tell them to have it?

No, that scene wasn’t even in my sketch. I just wrote [the script]And they said, “This is great. We have to do this. And then it was constant to find out who is the right mix of characters. Who makes sense to actually be in the alternate world of the Illuminati? And those of us who ended it felt like an impossible bunch. We never thought we’d get all these people, but we did.

And when did his massacre enter the equation?

This was the first project. It was there. I liked how they came in and made the audience feel safe, and then Wanda gets a lot scarier when she takes them out.

Is the casting of John Krasinski an indication that he will be the Reed Richards we finally know? ᲨExcellent four? Or was it just a cool way for him to meet the entire cast of fans and cast the arc from here?

This question is above my salary.

Who has an empty chair in some kind of Illuminati chair?

This is also an unanswered question, but we’ve talked a lot about it already. Maybe it was just a mistake. maybe a set [decorator] The boy had too many chairs. (laughs.)

Guys, do you really know the answer if it’s open now?

A little bit of both.

Reed Richards quoted 838-Strange as saying, “Things got out of hand”, and this is a variation of the phrase spoken by the villain Strange in the trailer. After the Sinister Strange line ended in the movie, was 838-Strange originally supposed to become Sinister Strange?

No, they were never the same guy. The evil energy line was shaped with a bit of symmetry. This idea really starts with Stephen: “Jesus, am I that bad in many worlds? And if that’s true, does that mean I’m going to look bad?” But, as so often happens, that line turned out to be just a trailer line and didn’t make the final cut.

Wanda, Strange and America need to leave their loved ones behind. Can you talk about this side track that the three of you were playing with your loved ones?

All three characters deal with loss, and Wanda deals with it more visually than anyone else. Strange also talks about how he lost and then has to say goodbye to Christine. [Rachel McAdams] At end. And the whole story of American descent is the loss of your parents. So they’re all broken characters trying to find their way in this world, but the biggest difference between the three is that Darhold won over Wanda in this particular story.

How does the end of the multiverse happen Loki in shape Spider-Man: No Way Home s mineral multiverseYour own versatile feats?

Well, I think that’s what makes it all possible. The MCU as we know it, Earth-616, was cut off from any multi-faceted seanigan, or perhaps a multi-world didn’t even exist until events followed. Loki Final. after the events Loki Ultimately, that defense is gone. The multiple world exists and the MCU world is now part of it. That’s why you can bring in villains and characters from other Spider-Man movies and therefore new ones. Doctor StrangeOur heroes can travel to other worlds.

Since Wanda has real children in at least one other world, does that mean they have human vision?

Potentially yes! შეიძლებაMaybe not.

I know you made a cameo at Christine’s wedding, but what was your most surreal day on set as a writer?

That’s why I was on set every day, which was a lot of fun. Every day was surreal, but some Illuminati days were certainly insane. But also seeing Benedict’s full zombie makeup, meeting an overpowered Scarlet Witch was really exciting just because these actors are so, so good. So, it was also quite surreal.

It will be Doctor Strange s Loki OR war of the galaxies s jumpHow did you manage to spin all these boards at once?

Well I have good employees. On all these projects I’m surrounded by amazing teams. I’m behind the wheel. (laughs.) So I’m lucky to be a part of these teams and you need to trust your employees. So I managed to jump.

Before I go, I must say how much I loved Crystal Tyler’s (Kelly Berglund) story. jump. At some point, the show just wanted to be drawn to him.

I’m so happy to hear that! It was from the beginning of the series that Crystal was a hero in many ways in the first season. jump. We really had to do an accelerated update story during the first season. So with the second season jumpIt’s exciting to explore what’s going on with him now that he’s tasted success.
