Louis Roberto Barroso. Minister of the STF, is in intensive care after an emergency surgery

According to the Court, the minister’s convalescence is proceeding as planned and, shortly, he should leave the intensive care unit.

the minister Louis Roberto Barrosoof the Federal Supreme Court (STF), is hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Brasilia unit of the Sírio Libanês Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery, informs the press office of the Supreme Court.

According to the STF, Barroso was admitted at the end of February to quit incisional herniaweakening of the abdominal wall or inadequate healing of the abdomen, which occurred after other previous surgery.

Barroso also attended a session of the STF on March 1, remotely, but, due to two episodes of bowel obstruction, he had to undergo new procedures.

The minister is under the medical care of Cassio Gontijo, of Sírio Libanês de Brasília, and Fabio Ferreira, who came specially from São Paulo for the third operation, according to the Court.

Also according to the press office, the minister’s convalescence “continues as planned” and, shortly, “he should leave the intensive care unit, where he is to facilitate medical observation”.
