EXT Capital brings in Leonardo Capra as director of compliance and risk

The manager must ensure compliance with the company’s internal policies and risk management

EXT Capital, venture capital born from a spin-off of DOMO Invest, announced Leonardo Capra as a new partner and director of compliance, risk and PLD. With over 20 years of experience in the market, the executive was the legal manager of TMF Group, Paraty Capital and BRL Trustas well as being a member of Equity Fund Committee of the Brazilian Association of Financial Entities and Capital Markets (ANBIMA).

“The desire to enter the capital market was old. And the fact that I already knew and worked with another co-founder of EAST Capitalwhile I was inside DOMO Investit facilitated the decision, since football was missing to make this change,” Leonardo said in a statement.

In the firm, he will be challenged to bring best practice to the 3rd party wealth management market. His responsibilities include ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant legislation, implementing and maintaining the risk management policy, monitoring and measuring the risks relating to the securities portfolios managed by the EAST Capital and the governance of value as a whole.

“A EAST aims to be a reference in the management of structured products in technology startups and we needed to bring more professionalism and experience”, explains Gabriel Sidi, co-founder of EAST Capital. For him, Leonardo’s entry into the company has brought value from day one and will help deliver the level of operational excellence required by the company’s key local investors.

In December 2022, the EAST announced that it has concluded the raising of a fund of R $ 250 million together with Solis Investments. The news comes just 3 months after the launch of the company, born to help high-performing startups and the flagship of the manager’s portfolio DOMO Invest.
