Those who go hunting… lose their streak! A few months ago, HBO suspended the development of six productions due to budget cuts. Including Batman: Caped Crusader, an animated reboot helmed by JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. While we thought the project was buried forever, today we learn that it has landed on Amazon’s desk.
The American platform bought the rights and has Immediately ordered two seasons. Good news for DC vigilante fans who have been orphaned by a good Batman animated series since Tim’s 1992.
This new version is not a sequel, even if the creator of the 1992 version is part of it, but rather a reinvention of the character and his rogues gallery in a world that is billed as “visually stunning”. Warner Bros. Animation and Bad Robot Productions are still attached to the project despite the change of home.
It remains to be seen if the teams will go with the same design that was revealed when HBO announced the project. They also released the first poster for Batman: Caped Crusader in the tweet below:

It’s not known when this new anime series will premiere on Prime Video, but it probably won’t be until 2024.
