Virgin Broadcasting, Jonathan Cohen, Pierre Nin… these movies and series you should (re)watch with the stars of LOL: Who’s Laughing Goes Out!

The concept of LOL: Who laughs, gets out! Simple in theory, but terribly difficult to put into practice. 10 candidates, all known to each other, are gathered in one room for 6 hours. their goal? Resist the destructive humor of their opponents and above all do not laugh. The most persistent will be offered a handsome check for €50,000, which will be donated to a charity of their choice.

From its timeless rules to its unexpected twists, there are many ingredients that make LOL a huge success. But what makes this Prime Video series special is its cast. Gerard Darmon, Eric and Ramsay, Ahmed Silla… They celebrated the history of LOL by offering the audience the best laughs.

From March 10, get ready to laugh! From Jonathan Cohen to Pierre Nini via Virgin Broadcasting and Francois Damien, Prime Video has rounded up the cream of the crop in 7 new episodes. What better way to prepare for the new season than to (re)discover these movies and series where this star cast shines?

Virgin Efira and Pierre Nin are 20 years apart

Before Virginie Efira and Pierre Nin won their Césars (she for Revoir Paris, he for Yves Saint Laurent) and rose to international fame, they played opposite each other 20 years apart. Early in their career, the film was already vibrating with their comic energy. You will not miss it!

Virginie Efira stars as Alice Lantin, 38, an ambitious and ruthless journalist. Blameless in his profession, he still suffers from an “old school” reputation that he wants to shake off. Ready to do anything to ruin her image, she forms a relationship with the young and charming Balthazar, with whom she has been for… 20 years.

Leila Becht and Geraldine Nakache I’ll Go Where You Go

Their father finally finds the perfect opportunity to bring them together for the weekend and try to reconcile them. Can they put their differences aside?

The iconic duo of modern French cinema, Leila Becht and Géraldine Nakache, made their debut together in All That Shines. On the screen, as inseparable in life, they play their co-star I’ll Go Where You Go.

François Damiens in Torpedo

In addition to the legendary hidden cameras, Francois Damiens regularly appears in the cinema to entertain the audience with his funny lines, proof with Les Complices, in cinemas on April 12, 2023. A dangerous candidate for LOL season 3, he starred in Torpedo in 2012, a tender and touching road movie, but also totally weird.

Michel Resac, 35 years old and without a precise situation, is wasting his time achieving nothing… but his life is completely changed when a phone call tells him he will be able to meet his idol, the cyclist Eddy Merckx. It’s an unexpected opportunity for him to make amends with his father, who shares his passion.

Jonathan Cohen in Pop Redemption

Unforgettable in La Flamme and Le Flambeau, Jonathan Cohen adds a beautiful LOL line to his comic CV. But before that, he was on the Pop Redemption poster with Julien Doré.

A true sponsor of LOL’s third season, Gad played the recurring character of Francois Pinion in the film, a lowly servant forced by a wealthy client to take on the role of researcher in order to escape a bad situation with his wife.

Adele Exarchopoulos in a true story

Another Prime Video format, True Story, allowed several YouTube videographers (Natoo, McFly and Carlito, Cyprien) to give voice to celebrities from the worlds of film and music. Among them, Adele Exarchopoulos told an incredible story in Season 2 that landed her on the Cannes red carpet at just 20 years old. Note that Pierre Niney, Geraldine Nakache, and Jonathan Cohen, previously mentioned, were also involved in True Story.

Paul Mirabel in Classico

After a great debut on the French stage, comedian Paul Mirabelle proves his comic talent in Classico, where he plays a young supporter of Olympique de Marseille. Together with his friend Sam (Ahmed Silla), he tries to recover the Champions Trophy, which was stolen by Parisian supporters.

According to Virginie Efira and Gad Elmaleh, Paul Mirabel is the most tireless of the candidates for this third season. Can you hold back your laughter while he does (spoiler: it’s absolutely impossible)?
