Jenna Ortega, from the “Wandinha” series, is in talks to participate in the sequel to “Os Fantasmas de Divertem” (Beetlejuice, in English), Tim Burton’s cult classic released in 1988. As reported by sources at expirationOrtega will play the daughter of Lydia, a character played by Winona Ryder in the original.
In addition to Ryder, who rose to fame recently for starring in Netflix’s Stranger Things, the film also featured Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, and Catherine O’Hara.
Ortega saw his career take off after making his debut as Wandinha in the Netflix series of the same name: the English version of the Addams Family spin-off is called “Wednesday”. However, the actress made a notable appearance in Netflix’s ‘You’ and is currently part of the ‘Scream’ franchise – living lead Tara Carpenter in ‘Scream 5’, from 2022, when the franchise returned to cinema screens after an 11-year hiatus.
“Scream 6” has also arrived in theaters, announced shortly after the release of the previous film. The film was released on Thursday (9) in Brazil.
The “Scream” franchise hit theaters in 1996, created and directed by Wes Craven. The film managed to revitalize the genre sharp in the 1990s, along with “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, and became a huge critical and commercial success. Budgeted at just $13 million, the original grossed $173 million worldwide.
