Breaking record after record, “Everything, Everywhere, At Once” has hit another staggering number (and there’s still Oscars to come, with 11 nominations to take home!).
According to IGN’s calculations, the blockbuster is now the most awarded film of all time, with 158 accolades to date from major critic organizations and awards bodies.
This spot was previously held by “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King,” which won 101 major math awards from IGN.
IGN notes that it has meticulously recorded all the accolades “Everything, Everywhere, At Once” has received this awards season, including those from major critics organizations and pre-Oscar awards like the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and Indie Spirits. .
However, according to the portal, all critics’ organizations have carried out the analysis, and articles such as IGN’s year-end best list have not been disclosed either. If all nominations and awards were counted, the work would still beat “The Return of the King” in awards and nominations (336 awards and 691 nominations to 213 awards and 337 nominations).
Furthermore, in the 20 years since the release of JRR Tolkien’s sequel, a whole new range of organisations, critical circles and websites have begun handing out their own film awards.
For “Everything in Every Place at the Same Time,” the amount of awards won was greatly influenced by the number of organizations that nominated her (110 versus 90 for “The Return of the King”).
In an effort to level the playing field, IGN has narrowed the list down to only awarding bodies that have recognized both films. Of the total of 152 organizations that nominated the new feature and Tolkien’s work, only 45 recognized the two films.
Narrowing their totals down to just these 45 organizations, Multiversal Work still outperformed the competition in awards (138 to 127), nominations (295 to 189), and organizations giving them an award (39 to 37). .
