NCIS Hawaii: M6 breaks the broadcast of the detective series

On Saturday, February 18, M6 released NCIS: Hawaii, the latest spin-off from the NCIS franchise: Special Investigations.

Directed by Vanessa Lachey, this series tells the story of Jane Tennant, a single mother trying to juggle her personal and professional life, who leads with an iron fist the NCIS Pearl team, a team of special agents working in the Pearl Harbor office. Agents Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant), Jesse Boone (Noah Mills), Lucy Tara (Yasmin Al-Bustami) and Ernie Malik (Jason Antoon).

Four episodes a night

Until last Saturday, M6 aired NCIS: Hawaii with two new episodes every Saturday night. But from this March 11, the channel has decided to speed up the broadcast of the series, as it will be 4 new episodes that will be offered from 9:10 PM onwards.

While the channel did not explain the reasons for this change in the show, this decision is probably related to the disastrous audience that the series reaches every week.

When it launched, NCIS: Hawaii drew 1.55 million viewers for an audience share of 8.6%. The following week, the spin-off, directed by Vanessa Lachey, drew just 1.14 million viewers, or an audience share of 6.0%.

The newcomer to the NCIS franchise earned a 10.0% market share of female purchasing managers under the age of fifty. With these scores, M6 was on the fourth step of the audience podium, behind TF1, France 3 and France 2.

NCIS fans: So Hawaii has to stay up until 12:30 AM if they want to continue the adventures of special agents NCIS Pearl.

Season 3 for NCIS: Hawaii

If in France, NCIS: Hawaii seems to be struggling to find its audience, in the United States the series is a great success. Although Season 2 is currently airing on Atlantic, CBS has announced that it has been renewed for a third episode, which will air on the channel at the beginning of the next school year.

And because good news never comes alone, the US channel also revealed that NCIS: Special Investigations will return for a 21-season run, with the detective series still, even after 20 years on the air, one of the network’s strongest brands.

Catch four new episodes of NCIS: Hawaii every Saturday from 9.10pm on M6.
