The Razzie Awards ceremony, which annually honors the worst films, has announced its verdict for this 2023 edition, the 43rd in history!
As usual, the big “loser” of the Golden Raspberry Awards was revealed a day before the Oscar ceremony. It will be held on March 12.
Blonde, the Marilyn Monroe biopic released on Netflix, is the big loser with the Raspberries for worst movie and worst screenplay. Organizers were not kind to Jared Leto, who won his second statue in a row.
After being “crowned” worst actor in a supporting role for House of Gucci last year, this time he won the Golden Raspberry for worst actor for his role as Morbius.
Tom Hanks also takes home two Razzies: Worst Supporting Actor for Elvis and Worst Screen Duo for his “latex-laden face and ridiculous accent.”
On the acting side, the Razzies switch and reward themselves with a Golden Raspberry for making the mistake of naming a 12-year-old actress (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) among the worst actors, before backing down in the face of controversy.
After apologizing, the organizers set the age limit for future nominations to 18 years. As for Adria Ariona, she is the most “holy” actress in the supporting role of Morbius.
Note that the Redemption Razzie went to Colin Farrell for his unanimously acclaimed performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.
