Russian shelling kills three Ukrainian civilians in Kherson and one in eastern Ukraine

Three civilians were killed in a Russian shelling of Kherson in southern Ukraine on Saturday and another died in eastern Donetsk region, regional officials said.

“Today the Russian occupation forces struck Kherson again. On a street in Mykolayivsky, near a shop, the wreckage of a bomb killed three people…” regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin told Ukrainian television, adding that a car, several buses and commercial property were damaged.

Prokudin said three people, including an elderly woman, were also injured in the attack on the city.

Ukraine retook Kherson in November after nearly eight months of occupation by Russian forces who seized power shortly after their invasion of the country began. The area is now under constant bombardment by Russian forces.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Donetsk regional governor, said one person was killed and at least three civilians were injured in the town of Kostyantynivka after several rounds of Russian shelling during the day.

The Donetsk region has witnessed some of the most violent clashes since Russia sent troops to Ukraine on February 24 last year.
