Sony has released the first trailer for horror comedy The Challenge, starring Jennifer Lawrence, as we’ve rarely seen it. Garbage on an incredible pitch: The trailer is absolutely insane!
Rated R in the US (so children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult), the film follows the adventures of Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence), who, on the verge of losing her childhood home, discovers a rather unusual job offer. As such, she responds positively to the questionable request of wealthy parents (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benant), who are looking for someone to date — which means sleep with — Percy (Andrew Bart Feldman), their introverted 19-year-old son, earlier. He doesn’t go to college.
The completely insane film is signed by Gene Stupnicki from a screenplay he co-wrote with John Phillips. Before that, Gene Stupnicki directed the equally steamy 2019 comedy The Good Guys, a coming-of-age film starring a young Jacob Tremblay. He also wrote Bad Teacher (2011) and Year 1: A Hard Start (2009).
The Challenge will be available in theaters from June 21, 2023.
