The actor and state deputy from Rio de Janeiro lied about the Jacarezinh massacre
Thiago Gagliasso blocked R$10,000 from his bank account by court decision after spreading false news. The information was provided by columnist Ancelmo Goias, of the newspaper The globe.
Congressman PL-RJ published a lie by posting about Adriana Santana, mother of one of the young men killed in the Jacarezinho massacre, in Rio de Janeiro. According to lawyer João Tancredo, the actor made a post with a woman holding a rifle and claimed to be Santana.
“It is evident that the publication of the defendant has harmed the dignity of the plaintiff, as in addition to mocking the mourning for the loss of his son, it has tarnished his reputation in society by linking it to the crime. Furthermore, the accused is a public person with a large number of followers, which facilitates the dissemination of content,” wrote Judge José Guilherme Vasi Werner, of the 2nd Special Civil Court of Barra da Tijuca.
The decision also says: “the amount of BRL 10,000 to compensate the plaintiff, taking into account the circumstances of the facts, the economic condition of the accused and the victim. Likewise, the request is valid to be retracted, publishing new publications informed of the content of this sentence, as well as the image of the author of the video in question being disconnected”.
After the news broke, Gagliasso scoffed. “Good morning to those who woke up convicted and weren’t even notified of the trial! Shut down TGZinhoooooou! Free Lula TGzinho arrested, ”he said on social media.
The judicial decision also establishes that the plaintiff will have to portray himself publicly with the risk of a daily fine of R$ 200, limited to the amount of R$ 2 thousand.
