In the first season of Avenir, Elliot, a character played by Kev Adams, discovers that he can change his present from 20 years ago by communicating via email. But he will understand very quickly that the slightest change can have huge consequences for him and his loved ones.
And in episode 5 of the series, airing this Monday, March 13 at 9:10 p.m., he will pay the price, as after a good night’s sleep, Elliot wakes up in the skin of an overweight young man.
An impressive physical transformation that required a lot of time and work from the makeup teams, as Kev Adams confided in an interview with TF1.
“This metamorphosis required three and a half to four hours of makeup every morning“, he explained, before adding:The shoots usually started early and for this particular preparation I had to arrive around 4am.“
“It was tiring but worth it because the result shows how much control the character has over anything in his life. When he wakes up, he may be someone else, both mentally and physically. Looking totally different, I was having fun playing the game, even though it was a hell of a day!”
During the episode, Kev Adams had to wear a “fat suit” and multiple prosthetics to bring this completely transformed version of Elliot to life.
Kev Adams rejuvenated?
In episode 3 of Avenir, which airs on Monday, March 6 on TF1, you can see a teenage version of Elliot. And while many might have thought the actor would be digitally rejuvenated, it’s actually his little brother, Noam Smadia, who plays the character.
It’s a good idea on the part of the authors because the resemblance between the two brothers is striking. However, this is the only time Noam Smaja appears in Avenir, as he does not return for the rest of the series.
Catch the final two episodes of Avenir this Monday, March 13 from 9:10pm on TF1.
