to remember
Canon is back in the Scream saga! More than a year after the release of the 5th installment, titled Scream, Scream VI has created a stir in theaters and gathered a large number of viewers from its first weekend of operation in the United States. This new opus becomes the most successful part of the entire franchise, earning more than $44 million in 3 days. It is far superior to Scream (2022), which was released in a different context, again marked by the Covid crisis. The highest-grossing episode so far was Episode 3, which was released in 2000, grossing $34.7 million.
Like our colleagues Boxoffice Pro“Scream VI also starts higher than other recent horror movies: +97% compared to Smile in 2022 or even +46% compared to M3gan last January. Globally, his $67.1 million startup is also a franchise record.“
In the face of this strong competition, Creed 3 drops one spot and collects an additional $27.1 million, for a total of $101.3 million. For the record, the film is a huge success in France, the leading country for this film in the world.
Let’s highlight two news in the rating this week: SF movie, 65 – La Terre d’avant, ranked 3rd, with Adam Driver. In the United States, it grossed $12.3 million. It comes out in France this Wednesday.
Champion is in 6th place with $5.1 million. This Bobby Farrell comedy has yet to be released in French cinema.
