Flamengo: Matheuzinho suffers a fracture in his left leg


Injury occurred in the match against Vasco, in Maracanã, this Monday

Taken to hospital immediately after the derby between Flamengo and Vasco, for the semi-final of the Carioca Championship, right-back Matheuzinho underwent tests which diagnosed a fractured tibia in his left leg. Thus, the player becomes an embezzler in Rubro-Negro. The club has not yet communicated the next stages of recovery and the deadline for the return.




Now, Vítor Pereira will have to deal with a new problem in his position, as Varela has a pubic muscle injury and is still recovering at Ninho. With the departure of Matheuzinho, the role was improvised by the young Matheus França. Flamengo won the match 3-2.

The return match of the semifinal of the Carioca Championship will take place this Sunday, at 18:00 (Brasilia time), at the Maracanã. After winning the first leg, Flamengo have a draw lead in their next match, but if they lose they will be out of the state final. Vasco needs a simple victory to advance.
