AlloCiné: Were you expecting this big reveal about Axel’s origins in “This Is Where It All Begins”?

Thomas Dakosta: Not necessarily, but it’s interesting because it allows me to play very different things as an actor. Axel is usually very sunny and I managed to dig elsewhere there. This story sets the cards for the series. Other doors are open…

Your character will now find himself between the Taysier and Armand families… how will he fit into this?

His position is special because these clans are central to the series. Maybe one day they’ll connect… He’s passionate about cooking, but now his whole family is at the institute! (laughs) It’s difficult for him.

Does he know that a pawnbroker can become the director of the institute in war?

Yes, he knows it. He is torn between the family of his heart, the Teyssiers, and his new “blood family,” the Armands. This allows him to discover his side of the story. But it all comes at a moment when it’s a big decision for the future of the boarding school…he realizes that he might be the one to change everything!

And finally, who does Axel turn to?

Everyone asks him to choose a voting side, but he’s completely gunned down. Somehow he wants to take revenge on his uncle and the voice can be the right tool for this revenge…

Axel also learns a very important letter from Lucy, his biological mother. What are the consequences of this message?

He will get confused and will consider this whole situation differently. This will bring him new information… but it will also raise other questions.

Axel forgives Emmanuel for his lies, but can their relationship be saved?

Axel is a big believer in second chances. He wanted everything to go well with his uncle, because Emmanuel had always been a model. He created a lot through her, so it is important to him that their problems are solved. The ball is in Teissier’s court.

Can Axel and Luis build a true brotherly relationship?

It’s always hard with Louis! Axel is wary even though they are brothers now. He knows he’s used to being punched in the ass… that doesn’t stop him from believing because Axel isn’t conflicted.

Nicholas Anselmo (Elliot) has announced that he has left the series for a while. Do you understand his decision? Do you feel the same need?

I understand his decision. As for me, I travel a lot, but I have no departures to announce! (laughs) Of course I want something else. Playing in ITC requires a lot of pace. So I won’t do the series for only 15 years because I have projects on the side, especially music. I also released my single “Jeu” and my first EP will follow this year. But I’m fine here.
