Bixby gets support for child accounts


Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant now allows children to use it optimally, with content filtering and adapted language

Child-friendly profiles will allow parents to supervise their children’s searches. It will be possible to block access to certain subjects and have filters to guarantee the safety of the little ones.

The measure follows the flow of Samsung innovations designed to serve parents and guardians. Recently, Bixby has received a number of features aimed at children, with responses designed for the youngest. Now, this can be improved with the children’s account, after all, the virtual assistant will certainly be dealing with a different audience.

For now, this feature is exclusive to users in the United States and South Korea, with plans to gradually expand to other countries. It is not known whether Brazil will be included in Samsung’s plans.

Bixby Alarm Clock

The South Korean manufacturer has also updated the Bixby Wakeup feature to offer more reliability. As the name suggests, Wakeup works as a trigger to wake up your voice assistant, like with “Hey Siri” and “Ok Google” in rivals.

The update also fixes some bugs and brings more stability to the virtual voice assistant. Samsung didn’t detail what these improvements were, so you can imagine they were very specific things.

The latest version of Bixby is 3.3.03.2, it is 55.67 MB in size and is only available on the Galaxy Store. The solution can be accessed via a configured button or with voice activation, depending on the user’s settings.

The virtual assistant has undergone a number of changes to make the experience more complete, such as setting a timer or turning on the flashlight. These are basic features already present in Apple’s rivals, Amazon and Google, but which had not yet landed in One UI. Furthermore, the tool also has an optimized artificial intelligence that does not require an internet connection.
