Cuesta appreciates Botafogo’s standings for the Copa do Brasil: ‘We had to react on the pitch’

The way Botafogo qualified for the Copa do Brasil was praised by Víctor Cuesta. On leaving Kleber Andrade’s lawn in Cariacica (ES), the defender highlighted how the team has consolidated the 7-1 of the Brasiliense this Wednesday (15), in the second phase of the competition.

The defender was one of those who scored in the match and received applause from the Espírito Santo fans.

– I’m happy for the affection of the fans. We worked to do our best, we had to react on the pitch. Our working group is very good, but we had to prove it on the pitch. Today, thanks be to God, it was a great result,” she told Amazon Prime Video.

The Argentine underlined that the defeat will be fundamental to reinvigorate Alvinegro’s spirits.

Botafogo is now aiming for the Rio Cup, which gives way to the Copa do Brasil 2024. The team will face the first leg of the semifinals against Portuguesa on Saturday (18th). Alvinegro needs the title to secure itself in the national competition via the state.
