Police said at least eight people were arrested.

At least eight fans were arrested in Italy due to clashes with the police which took place last Wednesday (15) on the occasion of the match between Naples and Eintracht Frankfurt, in the Champions League.

Among those arrested are five Italians and three Germans. According to information from the Neapolitan authorities, at least six officers were injured in the clashes in the city.

The local police are working hard to identify the Eintracht fans. Almost 500 German ultras were taken to the Neapolitan police stations for identification procedures.

“Italian politics has always washed its hands of football violence. There was only one prime minister who did something, she was English and a woman, I hope Meloni does the same. We have to take the law of England and apply it to Italy , Said the president of Napoli Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Napoli practically became a “war zone” during the pre-match duel for the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Some police vehicles were set on fire, there were many riots and the confusion also involved fans of other teams, such as Atalanta. .
