The data also reveals that one in three women said they were harmed by their hair, strengthening the move towards ancestor rescue.

A new behavior of women with curly and frizzy hair is becoming a pleasant surprise for the beauty market. Research indicates that they are increasingly willing to go with the natural look of their hair.

A survey created by the platform Google Brandlab pointed out that searches for curly hair increased by 232%, while searches for curly hair grew by 309%. These are results that demonstrate the growing importance people place on the look, volume and care of their hair.

According to professor and master in audiovisual communication Tania Trindade, “the more advanced the age of the person, the more difficult it becomes to accept his threads, given the long years within his comfort zone”.

On the other hand, the same survey showed that 1 in 3 women say they have suffered prejudice due to the characteristics of their hair. And that 4 out of 10 women felt embarrassed about their hair.

According to Robson Trindade, professor and master of make-up, “the capillary transition, which is the phase of recovery from straightened strands to natural ones, has become a way to reconnect with one’s essence, recovering a self-esteem that did not exist before”.

According to a survey conducted by Google Trends in 2002, analyzing a period of 10 years, the term “widespread transition” had an increase in searches of over 300%. Additionally, the tool found that searches related to curly and curly hair also saw significant growth in search volume.

However, despite the growing interest in curly and frizzy hair, the availability of specific products for this type of hair curvature still doesn’t appeal to consumers. Research “all for the hair“, conducted by Unilever, points out that nine out of ten Brazilians, declaring themselves black, say that product diversity has increased in the last five years, but that 31% of respondents say they still expect a greater variety of finishers and hair masks on the market.

The capillary passage and its care during the process.

According to the investigations carried out by theAnything related to hair, 26% of women interviewed say that, since the beginning of the pandemic, their hair is more hydrated. As for the hair routine, 37% say they pay more attention to their hair and 31% that home treatments have been more present during the period of isolation.

Robson Trindade says adherence to at-home procedures has been an ally in hair transition: “With this comes the process of reclaiming natural color, giving up hair with highlights and demonstrating, once again, transitioning in the context of beauty,” says king of curls, Robson Trindade.

Tania Trindade says hair transition isn’t just experienced through textures: “Women who do highlights every two to three months to keep their hair blonde or a very light tone, when they stop, they also transition . the closure of the beauty spaces, these women have had to assume their natural hair and therefore have experienced a great change, seeing the strands move further and further away from the roots and the natural color of the hair gradually appear”, reveals the professional.

According to the report Pinterest predicts, released in December 2022, natural beauty tends to grow over the next few years, consequently raising expectations regarding the search for procedures that demonstrate such naturalness, so innovation ends up becoming necessary for this venture. The capillary transition has been responsible for bringing innovations, which, as a result, have forced the beauty market to reposition itself and facilitate the process of acceptance of its customers”, added the Make-up artist specializing in curly, wavy and frizzy hair, Robson Trindade.
