Hannah Dodd, from ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’, will be the new Francesca Bridgerton.

    The next season of ‘The Bridgertons‘ will offer us much more than Francesca Bridgertonbut the actress who plays the character will look very different.

    In news sure to intrigue Lady Whistledown, Francesca’s current actress Ruby Stokes is leaving the period drama to focus on another Netflix, ‘Lockwood & Co.’

    In light of the change, Netflix has confirmed that Hannah Dodd, from ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’, will take on the roleafter impressing as a younger version of the character from Sienna Miller in the recent thriller.

    Francesca’s biography describes the young woman as “a mystery within her family, outgoing and talkative“.

    “Despite his reserved nature, he manages to get along when it comes to the affairs of society, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confound the fickle Tonbut they seem to attract attention when you least want it,” he continues.

    Clearly excited by the news, the official ‘The Bridgertons’ Twitter account posted “The only thing la Ton loves more than a scandal is a celebration“he joked.”Joyfully welcome the newest member of the Bridgerton family“.

    There is no doubt that there is pressure for the third season of ‘The Bridgertons’, after the spectacular audience results of the second installment.

    After its premiere in March, the steamy series (less steamy this time) recorded 251.7 million viewing hours in its first seven daysmaking it the most-watched English-language television series in Netflix history.

    And there’s also a spin-off on the horizon.

    Shortly after the release of the second season it was confirmed an as yet untitled prequel that will tell the backstories of Lady Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), Lady Agatha Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel).
