Richarlison’s bad phase could start a new chapter this Saturday. The Brazilian left the pitch in tears after being replaced with a hamstring injury in Tottenham’s Premier League match against Southampton. The striker had recently bemoaned a lack of opportunities and cited injuries as a contributing factor to his poor season.
Starting from the duel valid for the 28th round of the Premier League, Richarlison injured himself with just 5 minutes of play and asked for a replacement. Even before leaving the field, the striker started crying and was comforted by his teammates and coaching staff.

Shortly before the World Cup in Qatar to be played at the end of 2022, Richarlison suffered a calf injury which threatened his presence at the World Cup. Earlier this year, the striker was sidelined again with new muscle problems, this time in his thigh.
Since joining Tottenham in July last year, the Brazilian has yet to justify his signing. In the 26 times he’s been on the pitch, half as a starter, he’s only scored two goals. Both in the same match against Olympique de Marseille in the Champions League in September last year. Since then he has not scored again for the England team.
After Tottenham’s elimination in the Champions League last Wednesday against Milan, Richarlison showed great dissatisfaction with this season’s performance. Shaken by the defeat, the attacker wondered why he no longer had opportunities as a starter and also wondered about the bearing of Conte’s team in the match that culminated in the fall in the continental tournament.
