After bidding farewell to the character of Balthazar last February, Tomer Sisley returns to TF1’s Comme mon fils as fugitive criminal Victor. For this occasion, he answers Jordan Delasus, a young 7-year-old actor, who have you seen in fiction and when? and in the Amazon Classico series.
Lizzie Broschere, seen in Braquo and The War of the Worlds, slips into the shoes of Margot, a young woman who helps the duo escape. On the other hand, Phoenix Brossard and Constance Dole are the two police officers responsible for finding Victor.
On the production side, Frank Brett, who worked on Balthazar season 4, is in charge of filming Comme mon fils, while Edgar Marie (Braquo) has started writing the scripts.

We are in the early 90s. Discharged with petty crimes, Victor tries to find a normal life, but he still finds himself responsible for an abandoned little boy, the abandoned, mentally ill Charlie.
After a heist that goes wrong, Victor finds himself crossing the country with his son. Slowly, a strong bond forms between the two companions in trouble, while the police begin a relentless hunt to find him.
Inspired by the true story of Jean-Marie Drouet and Ludovic Guitte, which they rewrote in their 2018 novel L’enfant de la cavale, Comme mon fils offers an exciting story based on a duo of actors who work well together. The complicity between Tomer Sisley and young Jordan Delasus is undeniable.
Moreover, this alchemy gives all its importance to the telefilm. Unfortunately, this father-son relationship, as endearing and touching as it is, is not helped by Like my son’s screenplay, which is severely lacking in rhythm, which often prevents us from being passionate about the story, albeit atypical.
As for the supporting roles, Phoenix Broussard and Constance Dole, who play the two cops tasked with finding the fugitive, struggle to convince as some of their dialogue is fake. Only Lizzie Broschere manages to get away with respectability, even if her character sometimes lacks dimension.
In short, Comme mon fils is a poignant fantasy adapted from a true story that, if it sometimes struggles to charm us, is based on a solid duo worth a detour.
