Since the billionaire bought Twitter, he has made several changes to his platform and was heavily criticized in the media. Musk has already made two heavy waves of layoffs on the social network and, in his first week as owner of Twitter, he fired practically the entire Department of Communications.
The employee found out about the layoff on Twitter
A Twitter employee decided to tweet at the billionaire to ask whether or not he would be fired, as he lost access to his work computer.
“I opened my computer on Sunday morning nine days ago and saw that the screen was gray and frozen, indicating that I was blocked from accessing my Twitter accounts”, Halli told the BBC.
He then emailed HR inquiring about his status within the company, but received no response. After waiting nine days, the employee decided to call Musk through the billionaire’s platform to see if he would answer his question. The conversation has been shared multiple times on the platform.
Per the BCC website, Halli said that after the conversation with Musk on Twitter, he received an email from company HR confirming that he was fired. He also said there was uncertainty about his job “Strange” AND “extremely stressful”.
