After the Oussekine: Disney + series, another project on this case was published in Cannes

After thirty-six years of silence, the case of Malik Ousekin emerges from the shadows. The murder of a 22-year-old student, which took place on December 6, 1986 in Paris, is the theme of a four-episode series created by Antoine Chevrolet and is available on Disney +.

This story was first heard on screen. Another project will be presented at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. This time it’s a feature film by Rachid Bouchard called Our Brothers.

The film, shown in the Cannes premiere section, in turn depicts the 1986 tragedy when student demonstrations took to the streets against the Devaquet bill. If the series decides to focus solely on the battle of the Ouskin family, our brothers will also consider the death of 20-year-old Algerian Abdel Beniahia, who was killed by police in Pantin, on the same night as Malik. His disappearance was followed by less publicity.

Lina Khudri and Reda chickens in “Our Brothers”.

On the screen, Reda Chicken plays Mohammed Ousekin, the victim’s brother, Lina Khudri plays Sarah, the sister, as for Adam Amara, he attributes his qualities to Malik. The director who signs the script returns to a strong political theme.

In 2006, he filmed Indigènes, a drama about forgotten soldiers of World War II. Actors – Jamel Debussy, Sam Nasser, Roshdi Zem, Three Bujilas and Bernard Blancan – together receive the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
