Keanu Reeves has paid tribute to his ‘John Wick’ co-star Lance Reddick following his death.
Reddick, who we could also see in ‘The Wire’, returns in the latest chapter of the action franchise as Charon, the Continental’s janitor. The film is one of his last film roles.
The actor passed away of natural causes, at the age of 60, on March 17.
“Lance was a very beautiful person, a special artist”Reeves shared with Entertainment Tonight, in the premiere of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ in Hollywood.
“His talent and dignity… His brilliant light was something truly special.“, he continued.
“I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to know and work with him for almost ten years.“.
Reeves and ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ director Chad Stahelski previously released a joint statement remembering Reddick, describing him as “an absolute professional“.
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and colleague Lance Reddick.“Reeves and Stahelski stated in their statement.
“He was an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with.. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, his family and his friends. We dedicate the film to his memory. We will miss him a lot“.
‘John Wick’ distributor Lionsgate also released a note honoring Reddick after his passing.
“The world of Wick wouldn’t be what it is without Lance Reddick and the incomparable depth he brought to Charon’s humane, unflappable charisma.“, collected the statement.
“Lance leaves behind an indelible legacy and impressive workWe will remember him as our charming and cheerful friend and concierge. We are stunned and heartbroken. We extend our deepest condolences to his loving family and fans around the world.“
Reddick will also appear posthumously as Charon, in the upcoming “John Wick: Ballerina” spinoff, starring Ana de Armas in the lead role.
‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ opens in theaters on March 24. The previous chapters of the saga are available at streaming on HBO Max.
