just when you thought Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight couldn’t be more prolific, he’s gone ahead and endured a star war. To be precise, the untitled Star Wars movies that Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were writing until recently.
Second VarietyKnight is now on board to write the script for the mystery film, which still has documentaries and Mrs. Wonder director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy on board for filming.
This would mark another shift for Knight, who has shown himself capable of writing all sorts of screenplays, from Dickens to nice and dirty things to Diana (as in, spencer). And although he approached science fiction with Watchthe idea of his brain raging in the galaxy far, far away is quite a prospect to consider.
We expect more news on this (assuming Lucasfilm is ready to announce it) at Star Wars Celebration, this year April 7-10 in London at ExCeL (and yes, funny idiots will be presentfor which we can only apologize in advance).
Knight’s latest work, a new adaptation of High expectationsbegins Sunday on the BBC in the UK and via Hulu on the same day in the US.
