Model Jessica Michibataformer wife of the Formula 1 champion Jenson Buttonwas arrested in Japan on drug possession charges, according to the newspaper’s information Japan Times.
A customs official found the ecstasy in a package that arrived in the country with the delivery address of the hotel room where the model was staying. Jessica was accompanied by her current boyfriend, second fuji tv.
The two were arrested for violating the law on special measures for narcotics. Jessica denies the allegations. She currently resides and works in the United States.
The Revive agency, where the model works, released a statement on the incident: “We apologize to everyone for any concern that the reports of Jessica Michibata, who belongs to our company, have caused. Michibata and are collecting information to confirm the facts. As the incident is being investigated by the police, we will refrain from disclosing any further details.”
Marriage to Jenson Button
Jessica Michibata met racing driver Jenson Button in 2008 in a Tokyo bar. The couple married in December 2014 and separated the following year.
Button is currently married to model Brittny Ward. The couple have two children. Jenson Button was Formula 1 World Champion in 2009 with Brawn GP and runner-up with McLaren in 2011. He retired in 2016.
