Chloe Zhao’s The Eternals introduced Dane Whitman’s character, Cersei’s (Gamma Chan) boyfriend, played by Kit Harington. In the post-credits scene of the feature film, we discovered that the latter was actually the Dark Knight.
In this scene, Dane opens a chest containing a dark sword. The camera stops on the sign: “Death is my reward.” As Dane reaches for his gun, a voice is heard behind him. This is the voice of Mahershala Ali, who plays Blade in the upcoming MCU movie.
So we learn that the interpreter of Jon Snow in the series Game of Thrones will give his features to the Dark Knight, the superhero who first appeared in the comics in December 1967.
The actor got to reprise his role in Blade, which made him happy. In November 2021, to promote The Marauders, Kit Harington announced on the website fandom :”It’s really cool to be involved in the MCU in this way. Chloe wrote to me a few weeks ago and I was blown away. I didn’t think it would happen like that, so that was really encouraging. “
However, according to Jeff Snyder, who will present the show Hot microphoneMarvel would rework Blade’s script and remove The Dark Knight from the script.

He assures us: “Someone contacted me and said that things have gotten a little better with Blade. The script is more sophisticated and serious, and the excess has been removed. The script I heard was 87 pages long and I heard that the Dark Knight is no longer involved in the film. They can add more characters.”
After the loss of director Bassam Tariq in September 2022, Blade’s script was indeed rewritten. It is Frenchman Yann Demaje who is now set to direct a feature film from a script by Beau de Maio adapted by Michael Starberry (When They See Us).
It’s entirely possible that Marvel wants to set the stage for the half-human, half-vampire hero before introducing him to other Marvel superheroes. Rumors about the future of the MCU definitely suggest that Blade will form his own team: Midnight’s Sons, and the upcoming film about this team could well explore the meeting between Blade and the Dark Knight.
If Kit Harington isn’t in Blade, the actor could return for another MCU film. Blade hits our theaters on September 4, 2024.
