Neil Patrick Harris Confirmed To Appear In ‘How I Met Your Father’

Neil Patrick Harris has confirmed his return to ‘How I Met Your Father’.

The actor will return to spin-off from ‘How I Met Your Mother’ as Barney Stinsonhis character from the original series (2005-2014), for the mid-season finale.

These two episodeswhich will be released on March 28, they were shot in front of a live audience for the first time in the franchise.

‘How I Met Your Father’ tells the story of Sophie, played by Hilary Duff, and the way she met the father of her child. As in the original series, the story is told by a Sophie from the future (Kim Cattrall).

It is not the first time that Harris appears in the series. The interpreter already made a cameo in the first episode, when Sophie crashes into the back of the car that Barney is driving.

The creators, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, spoke with TV line about how Harris’ cameo came to be.

“We did a Zoom with him to talk about what we were thinking. He was willing, which was amazing for us. It was the best way we could imagine to return“, Berger said.

‘How I Met Your Mother’ aired for nine seasons with Harris as a main cast member alongside Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segel.

Harris earned four Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

‘How I Met Your Father’ premiered in 2022, confirming a second season just a month after its premiere.
