The first concept art and theme for Pixar’s next animated film, Elemental, has just opened. Peter Son’s film will be released in the summer of 2023.
Disney has unveiled the first concept for Pixar Studios’ upcoming film, Elemental. Directed by Peter Sonny, to whom we owe Le Voyage d’Arlo, the animated studio’s 27th feature film tells the adventures of an unusual couple, Amber and Wade, in a city where the inhabitants – fire, water, earth and air – live together. This enthusiastic young woman and this wise young man are going to discover something elementary: what do they have in common …
For the second full-length film, the director was inspired by his childhood in New York. He explains: “My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and set up a grocery store in the Bronx.
We were one of those families who entered the new country with dreams and hope – all together in a large bathroom of mixed cultures and languages in fairly small neighborhoods. This is what led me to elementary school“.
More than a film about 4 elements, Elemental is first and foremost about differences and living together. Peter Sonny goes on to say:Our history is inspired by natural elements – fire, water, earth and air. Some items interfere with each other and some do not. What would happen to these elements if they were alive?.
The feature film will be released in our dark rooms in the summer of 2023. Meanwhile, Pixar’s next film, Buzz Lightyear, will be released in theaters on June 22 and we will be releasing it already. Easter eggs : This is Peter Sonny, who votes for Sox, the robot cat that accompanies the fly in space.
