In 2006, François Begodo published “Between the Walls.” The winner of the France Culture-Télérama Prix, this novel is based on her own experience as a French teacher at a college in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Two years later, director Laurent Kante is working on it to show the school as a microcosm where there are opportunities for equality or inequality, work and power, cultural integration and social exclusion.
Made like a documentary, Between the walls This is how he plays the card of social realism, which has the merit of re-launching the debate on education. Since being awarded the Palme d’Or and César in 2008 for Best Adaptation, the feature film has achieved very good points at the box office, with more than 1 million participants in total.
