Christopher Nolan: Is Oppenheimer longer than Interstellar? Rumor of record duration!

XXL-length movies have been coming out for a few months one after the other: after Avatar 2, Babylon, or most recently John Wick 4 and its 2h50, here’s another movie that should break the longest record!

The information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it doesn’t come from the studio behind this film, but it’s already been widely reported, and we’ll pass it on here… Christopher Nolan’s next film, Oppenheimer, should be followed up. Around 3 a.m., Puck News hears.

Christopher Nolan has accustomed us to long films, so this choice would be part of a certain continuity for the filmmaker: Interstellar lasted 2h50, Dark Knight clocked 2h44, Tenet lasted 2h30 or Inception and its 2h28…

Christopher Nolan for his new film set in France on July 19, 2023, Oppenheimer tells J. The story of Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist whose work led to the creation of the atomic bomb during World War II.

So everyone knows the end of the story, but not necessarily what led us there. And everything indicates that Christopher Nolan will build the story like a thriller, his favorite genre, from two opposite points of view. It allowed him to play with two image formats, making Oppenheimer the first film shot in IMAX and black-and-white. As if that wasn’t enough, the director, true to his legend, also managed to recreate a nuclear explosion without the use of digital effects.

With such promises, visual and narrative, we almost forget the equally impressive five-star cast. Cillian Murphy, a devotee of the director’s world, will play the lead role for the first time in their shared career. And he will be surrounded by Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Benny Safed or even Robert Downey Jr. for his first role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With a $100 million budget, Oppenheimer will be one of the summer 2023 blockbusters worldwide.
