Following the success of the first episode, which was a pilot to create a potential series, Michelle Sims and Dunia Cousins return to the new chapter of La Doc et le Véto this Tuesday, May 17, at 9:10 p.m., at France 3.
Launched in March 2021, the pilot was successful and topped the evening rankings with 4.68 million viewers, or 20.7% of the public and 6.0% of female purchasing managers under the age of 50 (FRDA-50). It is therefore not surprising that France 3 has decided to offer a new episode to its TV movies.
If in the first opus he saw Dr. Emma Collin, played by Dunia Cousins, arrives in the small village of Auvergne and has to live with Pierre Josette, a local veterinarian played by Michelle Kimes, this second episode called “Go and Return” focuses on the new. Problems now that two friends have managed to tame each other.
In this new 90-minute episode, the duo face the robbery of a respective cabinet by three teenagers from the village. The behavior of these idle young men runs counter to the aspirations of the city of Ines, a young girl who enjoys contact with nature and undergoes an internship in Pierre’s veterinary practice. For those who want to leave and for those trying to take root at the crossroads of life, La Doc and Véto have a lot to do to reconcile the residents of Valerian-le-Chantelle.
If the script of this TV movie is not always sophisticated (we do not stop counting how many times the word “young” or “youth” was uttered by the characters), La Doc et le Véto remains a pleasant watch. Special thanks to the Coesens-Cymes duo, which we are glad to meet again.
Solving the problem of rural youth, two screenwriters Silvian Corjia and Bruno Lekin show a very real aspect of rural life. Faced with a lack of perspective and boredom, teenagers dream of only one thing, running away to discover the world.
This new episode of Doc and the Véto also lays the groundwork for future opuses, with Emma’s character seeking answers about her origins and mother’s identity. The writers even offer us Cliffhenger at the end of the episode, who suggests that the sequel is already ready for our two great heroes.
