Bigger and badder than Megalodon? This is the trailer for The Black Demon and His Giant Shark

Based on the Mexican legend, Black Demon is directed by Adrian Grunberg (Rambo: Last Blood) and written by Boise Esquerra, from a story by Carlos Cisco. While the film is slated for a spring 2023 release in the US, its official trailer has just been released.

In Black Demon, Josh Lucas battles a huge megalodon shark, a giant aquatic nightmare, as you can see in these first images.

The film follows Paul Sturges, a father who takes his family on a trip to Mexico to inspect an oil rig owned by his company. There they find a place in the ruins, where only a few workers are frightened by the repeated attacks of a monstrous shark. The latter would become part of Mexican legend and known as the “Black Demon”. When the vessel sinks and a vengeful megalodon shark hunts them, Paul must find a way to stay alive and get his family to safety.

The cast includes Josh Lucas (Le Mans ’66, Poseidon), Fernanda Urejola (Cry Macho, Narcos: Mexico), Raul Mendes (Narcos, Sens8) or Julio Cesar Cedillo (Sicario, Narcos: Mexico).

black demon It is therefore scheduled to hit US theaters on April 28, 2023. A release date in France has not yet been announced.
