The director of ‘Let me out’ and ‘Nope’ has already started working on his fourth feature.
Jordan Peele has become one of the leading names in horror movies in recent years with only three films in his filmography: ‘Let me out’with which he obtained four Oscar Award nominations in 2018 (getting Best Screenplay), ‘Us’one of the best current horror movies to be scared, and ‘nope’one of the best films of 2022, in which he subtly moved away from the genre to flirt with science fiction.
His three films have managed to exceed 680 million dollars, the case of ‘Let me out’ being especially striking, one of the best psychological horror films on Netflix, which had a budget of less than 5 million dollars and raised the a whopping 255 million dollars, which helped the New York director to get the green light on his next projects.
It seems that Peele is already working on his fourth feature, still without a titlethanks to an update of the release calendar by Universal Pictures with all those films that we will be able to see in the medium and long term and that, as on previous occasions, will be in charge of producing the new Peele film.
December 25 It is the day set for your US premiere and, hopefully, in Spain. A date on which, just five days before, two heavyweights like ‘Sonic 3’ and ‘Avatar 3’ will share premiere (If your future self misses out on the third film starring the Na’vi, fear not, because James Cameron could be preparing a 9-hour montage of ‘Avatar 3’ for Disney+.) Obviously, they will be two proposals very far from what Jordan Peele is up to.
On this, do we bet the genre of the film? Except for a 180-degree turn, everything indicates that the director of ‘Us’ will continue to be linked to terror but, perhaps, flee from something pure and bet on a story linked to fantastic elements like in ‘Nop’ with which, as our colleague Fausto Fernández indicated in the review of ‘FOTOGRAMAS’, in addition to highlighting its staging , audiovisual design and soundtrack, “claimed that adventurous cinema of the fantastic and the incredible that Steven Spielberg left patented with his emblematic and influential ‘Jaws'”.
As has been customary in each of his projects, youAny aspect of the film is still unknown and if, as on previous occasions, the director will once again have Daniel Kaluuya, an actor with whom he worked on his debut film, ‘Let me out’, and on the recent ‘Nope’.
