The network has new footage from the filming of the continuation of the “Joker” directed by Todd Phillips, and on them we first got a good look at Lady Gaga in the image of Harley Quinn. In the pictures, Gaga appeared in a characteristic outfit: a textured red jacket with frills, a black leather miniskirt, a checkerboard corset, as well as patterned tights and matching ankle boots. The fact that in the sequel called “Joker: Madness for Two” the singer will play the fatal lover of the protagonist, it became known last summer. And in February, the first official frame was published with Gaga and her partner Joaquin Phoenix. The production of the tape started in December 2022, and the premiere is scheduled for October 4, 2024.
According to the creators, unlike the first part, the sequel combines elements of a psychological thriller and a musical: the film will feature both ballads and explosive rock anthems that reflect the psychological state of the Joker and Quinn. Whether Gaga will perform the soundtrack is not specified.
Recall that the first “Joker” received 11 nominations for “Oscar” and was awarded two statuettes in the categories “Best Actor” and “Best Music for the Film”. By the way, this is not the first collaboration with director Phillips for Gaga. He participated in the production of Bradley Cooper’s musical melodrama A Star Is Born, for which the singer was nominated for an Oscar.
