The former rebel reveals deep trauma over the deaths in Brazil

Actor Alfonso Herrera, who became known for his role in the soap opera “Rebelde” and in the musical group RBD, recently revealed that he carries with him a great trauma following the death of three Brazilian fans in an accident during an autograph session in São Paulo, in February 2006, which deeply marks him to this day.

In a revealing interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, she said she cannot go to places that bring many people together.

“Even today I feel a little scared when I go to a place where there are a lot of people. We supported each other because we didn’t have psychological support to deal with this situation. It was very hard. Years later, we went back to Brazil, we met the family members and the father of one of the girls who lost their lives. This event marked me very deeply and no matter how hard I try to get back on top, it’s there,” he confessed.

Herrera has indicated that this is one of the reasons he was dropped from the RBD reunion world tour. He explained that his absence was also due to his satisfaction with his career, but stressed that the group was financially exploited during its heyday by Televisa, claiming that the television company exploited its image to sell products and perform shows without paying dues. According to him, his work in RBD was undervalued and unfair, even after performing for thousands of people, such as the one in Los Angeles, in which he received a very small amount compared to what was generated financially.

“We did a show in Los Angeles for 63,000 people, for example, and they paid me 18,000 pesos (R$5,000 at current exchange rates),” he said.

He concludes by saying that despite the criticisms, he still maintains a positive relationship with “Rebelde”.
