In April 2021, Canal+ broadcast the long-awaited second season of Hippocrates, the medical series created by Thomas Lilt, which takes us behind the scenes of a French hospital in crisis.
Faced with both critical and viewer success, the encrypted channel has, without much surprise, announced a fiction renewal for Season 3, just days after the final episode of Season 2 aired.
But after that announcement, two years ago, there was radio silence… until Monday, March 27th. Canal+ has just revealed that Season 3 Episode 6 has just begun filming in the Ile-de-France region.
“Louise Burgoyne, Alice Belaidy, Karim Leclew, Zachary Chacerio and Bulli Lehners put on the blues again and faced a new crisis situation.“, – said in the press release of the channel.
It is empty. According to the decision of the health department, many departments of the hospital were closed and the departments that remained open were overcrowded. The SOS Médecins strike worsens the situation, leaving the entire population without access to healthcare.
Patients are gathering, the tension is palpable. Caregivers at the Poincaré hospital quickly realize that the instructions are inappropriate, and some choose to disobey.
For this new burst of episodes, Thomas Lilt will once again write alongside Mary Arno. And if Season 2 ended as viewers learned it was the beginning of the Covid epidemic, Season 3 will take place post-epidemic, as the scriptwriter explained to us when the finale aired.
“If I start writing about the epidemic tomorrow, if the season comes out in two years, it will no longer be relevant“, he explained to Alocine’s microphone, before adding:I have to do a post-covid season, but I don’t know what it will look like yet. I try to take a step back, listen, and maybe find something to say at some point. What is Post-Covid? You will have to invent it…”
On the casting side, Louise Burgoyne, Alice Bellaid, Karim Leclew, Zachary Chasserio, Anne Consin, Bully Lenners, William Lebghill and Eric Caravaca will return for this new opus.
