What was your reaction when you heard that the fourth season of Succession would be the last? And in your opinion, is it good to end the series this year?
Sarah Snook (Shiv Roy): I was very sad to hear that the series is indeed coming to an end. We knew this was a possibility when we started filming Season 4, but it was confirmed when we started rehearsing for the final episode.
I’m so sad because I love this show and I enjoy playing this character, I absolutely love everyone on the team, and since this show has been such a big part of our lives for several years now, it’s obviously not easy to say goodbye.
But I still think it’s the right decision and a very brave choice. As the series reached the peak of popularity and to say for himself “let’s stop”, it will somehow make sure that you have created something perfect. Stopping the series will prevent it from degrading or parodying itself. Stopping the show now was the smartest thing to do.
Did you know in advance what the end of the series or your character would be?
No, sometimes we even get the script two days before the shooting, and therefore none of us were informed in advance what would happen in the series, or the intended ending for this or that character. Sometimes we are given an idea of the general plot of the season, although series creator Jesse Armstrong often changes his mind…
This is a method that I appreciate very much, before that I worked mainly in cinema and theater, I only appeared in a few episodes in TV series, and the idea of working on a TV series with an unknown ending was very interesting. for me.
What do you think is the most disgusting thing your character has done throughout the series?
I think her telling her husband Tom that she doesn’t love him, but she does, and that it’s up to him to find out what she means, is really creepy. That’s why he chose to betray her. (laugh) Yes, I think this is the most disgusting thing Shiva has ever done.
Which character do you think deserves Logan the most?
Hungry! (laugh) On a more serious note, I don’t think any kid deserves his success. But someone has to inherit it all, so… my pick goes to Shiva, of course!
