What will happen to Joe? Netflix’s ‘You’ Will End Season 5: Everything We Know

After solving the mystery of the Eat the Rich Killer (which is inspired by real-life serial killers) and returning to the United States, it looks like Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) might finally see consequences for his actions in the final season of ‘ You’.

And it is that not all the doubts of the fans of the series were solved in the 4th season of ‘You’ and to answer these unknowns, Netflix made official the renewal of the series for its 5th season.

However, Netflix also announced that the new batch of episodes will have major production changes and will be the last of the series.

‘You’ Season 5, Netflix Confirms Joe’s Story Is Coming To An End

Through a short video on Twitter on March 24, 2023, the series’ official account announced that Joe will return in 2024 with the fifth season of “You” and that this will be the culmination of his story.

While the news doesn’t give much more information about what could be seen in Season 5, Badgley himself has said that he wants Joe’s character to be punished for all his crimes at some point.

In an interview with “IndiWire” on March 10, Badgley commented not only that he hoped the fifth season would be his last, but also that Joe should get what he deserves.

“It seems to me that Joe has to take his share and now he has to fall more because he has all this power and wealth. But of course, that’s not up to me. I don’t know where he’s going.”

This could be a reality, as “The Hollywood Reporter” reported on March 24 that the new season will have a major production shakeup, as Michael Foley and Justin W. will replace showrunner Sera Gamble.

“I am proud of what we have all achieved and feel privileged to have passed the torch. I’m excited to watch and support the ‘You’ team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its wonderfully twisted conclusion,” said Gamble.

“You” season 5 on Netflix: cast and release date

In this way, the series based on Sarah Pinborough’s novel will apparently end with Joe behind bars or killed as a result of his actions and his characteristically sick love obsession.

As for the cast, Penn Badgley will return, Charlotte Ritchie as Kate, Tati Gabrielle as Marienne, Amy-Leigh Hickman as Nadia and maybe Jena Ortega as Ellie Alves might have a cameo.

Other than the fact that “You” on Netflix will end with its fifth season, not much else is known about its premiere at the moment, and if it will be split into two parts like season 4, it is sure to be released at some point in 2024.
