Over the past fifteen years, the Marvel Universe (known as the MCU or Marvel Cinematic Universe), populated by many superheroes, has continued to expand and monopolize the top positions at the box office. From the release of Iron Man in 2008 to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Solace, no less than thirty-one feature films from this fantasy world have graced our screens.
Among them, a dozen films have exceeded a billion dollars in revenue. In the third place in the top three, we find the last part of the Spider-Man adventures, No Way Home, where the three historical actors of the saga – Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland – reunited. Multiverse development.
For the first two places, we suddenly find two films that closed the Avengers saga, Infinity War in second place and Endgame at the top of the ranking.
Conversely, the rival DC universe (Detective Comics) is trying to somehow resist the Marvel machine. Four films have managed to cross the symbolic threshold of one billion dollars, it is not surprising that a beautiful place is reserved for its emblematic hero, Batman.
Indeed, in fourth and second place we find director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, including the Dark Knight’s sworn enemy, the Joker’s version of Todd Phillips. First up is Aquaman, the hero of the oceans, played by the muscular Jason Momoa.
We invite you to play with these two worlds today to find out where these eight creatures come from: MCU or DC?
